DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>Speaker:&nbsp;Nicole J Ullrich, MD, PhD, MMSci, Former Faculty Chair, JCSW</strong></p><p><strong>Moderator: Eman Ansari, MD, JCSW Vice Co-Chair</strong></p><p>Dr. Ullrich completed her medical and graduate degrees at Yale University before coming to Boston. She describes herself as a “home-grown” Boston Children’s faculty member – starting as an intern and resident in Pediatrics, resident and fellow in Neurology at BCH and then each faculty position from Instructor and now Full Professor at Harvard Medical School.&nbsp; She has participated in and led committees at each level – resident, fellow, disease group, department, hospital, medical school, national organizations, clinical trials consortia – and in diverse environments – lab, clinic, hospital and collaborations with pharmaceutical companies.</p><p>Dr. Ullrich’s research focuses on targeted therapies for neurologic and oncologic complications of neurofibromatosis type 1 and the long-term neurologic complications of childhood systemic cancer and brain tumors.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>Dr. Ullrich serves as a member of the BCH Physician’s Organization Board and is the ad hoc member from the Medical Staff to the Medical Staff Executive Committee.&nbsp; She was previously the Faculty Vice Chair and Faculty Chair of the JCSW.&nbsp; She recently assumed her role as Director of both the Office of Faculty Development and the Office for Women’s Careers at Boston Children’s Hospital.&nbsp;</p>
