Dr. Ullrich completed her medical and graduate degrees at Yale University before coming to Boston. She describes herself as a “home-grown” Boston Children’s faculty member – starting as an intern and resident in Pediatrics, resident and fellow in Neurology at BCH and then each faculty position from Instructor and now Full Professor at Harvard Medical School. She has participated in and led committees at each level – resident, fellow, disease group, department, hospital, medical school, national organizations, clinical trials consortia – and in diverse environments – lab, clinic, hospital and collaborations with pharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Ullrich’s research focuses on targeted therapies for neurologic and oncologic complications of neurofibromatosis type 1 and the long-term neurologic complications of childhood systemic cancer and brain tumors.
Dr. Ullrich serves as a member of the BCH Physician’s Organization Board and is the ad hoc member from the Medical Staff to the Medical Staff Executive Committee. She was previously the Faculty Vice Chair and Faculty Chair of the JCSW. She recently assumed her role as Director of both the Office of Faculty Development and the Office for Women’s Careers at Boston Children’s Hospital.
